The Department of Justice intervened in a California whistleblower’s lawsuit filed in 2009 with over an estimated $1 billion in damages that accuses UnitedHealth Group of fraud in its Medicare Advantage health plans. The lawsuit alleges that UnitedHealth “games” the Medicare Advantage payment system by “making patients look sicker than they are,” and overbilling the government. Andersen Sleater Sianni represents whistleblowers in actions alleging fraud against the government. Click here to read more about the UnitedHealth lawsuit.
