FTC Warns of Fake Kidnapping Scam

A recent scam has been reported by numerous people to the FTC where scammers make calls saying, “I’ve kidnapped your relative,” and naming a brother, sister, child or parent and demand ransom immediately by wire transfer or prepaid card. The FTC reports that to prevent people from verifying the story, scammers order you to stay on the phone until the money is sent. Click here to read more.
